I would like to use a Flex. I spent more then one year learning it and developing small Java&Flex applications and evangelizing using Flex in a company i work for. But later i switched to Linux and i found that all my effort was useless. I have met problem with inputing unicode text (http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-40). I realized i cannot use Flex because my users cannot input text in their native language (i.e. with diacritics) in Flex applications, if they are using Linux. Flash is NOT currently platform independent!
Why correction of this BLOCKING problem takes Adobe such a long time? Flex is such great technology.
